イノシシの革の【お腹部分】は
レザーになった時に、
『毛羽立っている』ことがあります

毛羽立っている部分は
もちろん強度としては
銀面（革の強い表面）がある革と比べると
劣ってしまうのは否めないけれど。

キレイな革にはない
独特な味わいを感じさせてくれる

毛羽立っていても
穴が空いていても
大切ないのちのカケラ

唯一無二のヘリのカーブや穴も
ひっくるめて全てアートしたい

毛羽立ちレザーでできたこのノートカバーは
触るとふわふわしており
極上のビロードのような仕上がりとなりました

もちろんデザインは
すべて一点ものです

A5サイズのノートに適しています
30枚ノートなら、２冊まではさめます
（革の重なりに段差があるので、下敷きなどを挟むと◎）

ふかふかの部分と、
ツヤツヤした部分では
経年変化が異なります

それぞれの作品ごとに

こちらは長崎県諫早市内で駆除され
ジビエレザーHUMMINGBIRDのアトリエで
毛皮から革になった
イノシシ本革のみを扱っています

イノシシの駆除数は
年々増加しており
そのほとんどが廃棄されているのが現状です

やむを得ず、駆除されたいのち
せめて最後まで
大切にいただきたい

その想いで
全て手作業で仕上げています

イノシシ革は20年以上使える皮革と言われ
ヨーロッパでは
牛より軽くて強いイノシシの革を
【孫の代まで継ぐ革】として
祖父のカバンを、孫のお財布に作り変えるほど強い革、オーストリッチやクロコダイルに並ぶ高級な革として扱われています
日本でも昔は、火消し（消防団）がかぶる頭巾にも使われていました

⚪︎ジビエレザーHUMMINGBIRDでは、強度に影響のある箇所を除き、革それぞれの個性・イノシシが生きていたストーリーとしてあえて傷をそのまま使用しています。野生革の味わいとして楽しんでいただけたら幸いです。
⚪︎ジビエレザーHUMMINGBIRDで使用している革は、ミモザやアカシアを主な原料とする天然成分でなめし・染色をしており、時期や個体差によってカラーの違いなどがあります。ご了承ください。
⚪︎天然皮革は雨や汗などの水分で濡れた場合、色ムラやシミになる場合があります。または色落ちにより衣類等を汚す場合がありますのでご注意下さい。万一濡れた場合は水分をよく拭き取ってから陰干しして下さい。

After being culled, wild boar leather is often simply discarded.

Unlike cow leather from farmed animals, wild leather is never perfectly uniform.

Scratches, raised fibers, and color variations are all natural characteristics of Gibier Leather—these are the very features that make wild leather unique.

At Hummingbird, we sometimes use the belly portion of the boar leather. When tanned, this part can appear fluffy or raised.

While these areas may be slightly weaker than the smooth grain surface in terms of durability, they have a distinctive texture and charm that cannot be found in conventional leather.

Even if there are raised fibers or small holes, each piece is a fragment of life, and the unique curves and imperfections are all incorporated into the artwork.

From this philosophy, the Collage Series was born.

This notebook cover, made from distinctive, fluffy leather, feels soft and velvety to the touch, with a luxurious finish reminiscent of fine velvet.

Each design is one-of-a-kind.

It fits A5-sized notebooks and can hold up to two 30-page notebooks (use a backing sheet if the overlapping leather creates unevenness).

The fluffy areas and glossy areas will age differently, allowing you to enjoy a unique patina over time with each piece.

This leather comes from wild boars culled in Isahaya City, Nagasaki Prefecture and is processed entirely by hand at the Gibier Leather HUMMINGBIRD atelier, transforming fur into leather.

Most wild boars culled each year are discarded, but we aim to honor their lives by carefully crafting each piece by hand.

Wild Boar Leather Features:
• Durable for over 20 years
• In Europe, considered “leather to be passed down for generations”, stronger and lighter than cowhide, comparable to ostrich or crocodile leather
• Historically used in Japan for firefighter hoods
• Resistant to water, friction, and scratches
• Very lightweight (2/3 the weight of cowhide)
• Maintenance-free, similar in composition to human skin
• Tanned entirely with natural ingredients, safe for all ages

• Wild scratches reflect the animal’s life in the wild and are unique to wild leather.

• Leather is tanned with natural ingredients like mimosa and acacia, so color may vary by season or individual animal.
• Rain or sweat may cause staining or color transfer. If wet, gently wipe and air dry in the shade.
