At the very least, we wish to honor them by using every part with care and respect. The number of culled boars is increasing every year, and most are still discarded. We craft each item entirely by hand with the intention of honoring the life of the boar, using every piece carefully. ⸻ Wild boar leather is known to last over 20 years. In Europe, it is considered a luxury leather strong enough to be passed down for generations—grandfather’s bag can be remade into a grandson’s wallet. The term “Gibier Leather” may be unfamiliar, but it represents our commitment to reusing wild boars culled each year (over 600,000 annually) instead of discarding them (95% are still discarded). Starting from the fur, we handcraft each piece with care, from design to completion. The tanning process is handled by Yasashii Kawa in Sumida, Tokyo. These lives were taken out of necessity to maintain balance with humans.
