野生イノシシ革でがま口財布を作りました

この藍染レザーはハミングバードのアトリエにて染めたオリジナルカラーです

【がま口 × ジビエレザーの魅力】

天然素材ならではの個性豊かな風合いと、しっとりと手になじむ質感。
ジビエレザーの優しさが、がま口の丸いフォルムと驚くほどよく合います。
手にするたびに、どこか懐かしくて、ほっとするような…そんなお財布ができました。

今回は2種類の別の藍染レザーで
それぞれのがま口を仕上げました

全体的に薄めの藍染に仕上げた
こちらのがま口は洗い上げた
デニムの様な柔らかい藍色が魅力です
藍染前のヌメの風合いも残り
経年変化のコントラストが楽しみな
作品です

深い色の藍染の方は
口金近くの薄めの藍との
コントラストに加えて
裏面の引っ掻き傷の様な野生傷が
特徴的で、野山を走り回った
野生イノシシらしさを感じられます

「お金を守り、豊かさを招くイノシシ革のお財布」

イノシシは古来より
まっすぐ突き進む勇気と
成功の象徴として扱われてきました
また、子供を多く産むことから
子孫繁栄や豊かさをもたらす
縁起のよい動物とされ
十二支の亥として
無病息災や火災除けの守り神とも
伝えられてきました

そんな力強い象徴を持つ
イノシシ革で仕立てたお財布は
大切なお金を守り
日々の暮らしに安心と豊かさを
添えてくれます。

こちらは長崎県諫早市内で駆除され
ジビエレザーHUMMINGBIRDのアトリエで
毛皮から革になった
イノシシ本革のみを扱っています

イノシシの駆除数は
年々増加しており
そのほとんどが廃棄されているのが現状です

やむを得ず、駆除されたいのち
せめて最後まで
大切にいただきたい

その想いで
全て手作業で仕上げています

イノシシ革は20年以上使える皮革と言われ
ヨーロッパでは
牛より軽くて強いイノシシの革を
【孫の代まで継ぐ革】として
祖父のカバンを、孫のお財布に作り変えるほど強い革、オーストリッチやクロコダイルに並ぶ高級な革として扱われています
日本でも昔は、火消し（消防団）がかぶる頭巾にも使われていました

⚪︎本製品は天然皮革のため、色むらや傷、シワなどの天然皮革特有の個性や、染色時の化学反応でついた黒っぽい斑点や白化などが見られる場合があります。
⚪︎特に野生傷はイノシシが山の中で生きていた証であり、野生革のみに見られる特徴です。
⚪︎ジビエレザーHUMMINGBIRDでは、強度に影響のある箇所を除き、革それぞれの個性・イノシシが生きていたストーリーとしてあえて傷をそのまま使用しています。野生革の味わいとして楽しんでいただけたら幸いです。
⚪︎ジビエレザーHUMMINGBIRDで使用している革は、ミモザやアカシアを主な原料とする天然成分でなめし・染色をしており、時期や個体差によってカラーの違いなどがあります。ご了承ください。
⚪︎天然皮革は雨や汗などの水分で濡れた場合、色ムラやシミになる場合があります。または色落ちにより衣類等を汚す場合がありますのでご注意下さい。万一濡れた場合は水分をよく拭き取ってから陰干しして下さい。

We have created a kiss-lock wallet made from wild boar leather.

The indigo-dyed leather is an original color hand-dyed in the HUMMINGBIRD atelier.

The Charm of Kiss-Lock × Gibier Leather

With the rich, natural texture unique to wild leather and its soft, supple feel,
the gentle touch of Gibier Leather harmonizes beautifully with the rounded form of a kiss-lock wallet.
Every time you hold it, it feels nostalgic and comforting—a wallet made to bring warmth and joy.

We crafted two variations using different shades of indigo-dyed leather:

① Light Indigo Version
This wallet has a soft, denim-like blue, achieved by a lighter indigo dye.
The natural texture of the leather before dyeing remains, allowing you to enjoy the contrast as it develops a rich patina over time.

② Deep Indigo Version
The darker indigo contrasts with a lighter shade near the clasp.
The back features natural scratches from the boar’s life in the wild, adding character and a sense of the animal’s free spirit in the mountains.

A Wallet Made from Boar Leather to Protect Wealth

In Japanese tradition, boars symbolize courage, determination, and success.
Because they produce many offspring, they are also considered auspicious animals that bring prosperity and abundance.
As the boar represents the twelfth zodiac sign (Inoshishi), it is associated with protection, health, and warding off fire.

A wallet crafted from such strong symbolism—wild boar leather—is designed to protect your money and bring peace and prosperity to your daily life.

This leather comes exclusively from wild boars culled in Isahaya City, Nagasaki, and transformed from hide to leather in the HUMMINGBIRD atelier.

The number of culled boars increases each year, yet most are still discarded.
Out of respect for the lives taken, each wallet is carefully handmade to honor them fully.

About Wild Boar Leather
•Known to last over 20 years
•Lighter and stronger than cowhide, considered premium leather in Europe,
used to pass down from grandfather to grandchild
•Historically used in Japan for firefighter headgear
•Highly resistant to water, friction, and scratches
•Very lightweight (approx. 2/3 the weight of cowhide)
•Maintenance-free leather with properties similar to human skin
•Eco-friendly, tanned entirely with natural ingredients—safe for babies to the elderly

Before Purchasing
•This product is made from natural leather; color variations, wrinkles, scars, or dark spots/whitening from dyeing may occur.
•Wild scars are proof of the boar’s life in the mountains and are unique to wild leather.
•At HUMMINGBIRD, natural marks are intentionally preserved—except where durability is affected—to honor each animal’s story.
•The leather is tanned and dyed using natural ingredients such as mimosa and acacia. Colors may vary depending on season and individual hide.
•Contact with water, rain, or sweat may cause stains or color transfer. If wet, wipe thoroughly and dry in the shade.
•Leather is delicate; please handle with care to enjoy for many years.
