We are deeply grateful for these lives and aim to honor them to the very end.
We believe that careful living and conscious choices create a future that is gentle on both the planet and our bodies.

All wild boar leather used by HUMMINGBIRD is tanned with natural ingredients from mimosa and acacia, making it safe for use from babies to adults.

The term Gibier Leather may be unfamiliar, but it represents our commitment to honoring over 600,000 boars culled annually, instead of discarding them (95% are still simply discarded).
From hide to finished product, every piece is handcrafted, with tanning done by “Yasashii Kawa” in Sumida, Tokyo.

These lives were taken out of necessity to maintain balance with humans, and we believe they should be respected until the very end.

Before Purchasing
• This product is made from natural leather, so variations in color, scars, wrinkles, and spots caused by chemical reactions during dyeing may appear.
• Wild scars are proof that the boar lived freely in the mountains, a feature unique to wild leather.
• HUMMINGBIRD intentionally preserves these marks, except where structural integrity is affected, so you can enjoy the story of each animal.
• Leather is tanned and dyed with natural ingredients from mimosa and acacia. Colors may vary depending on season and individual hide.
• Leather may stain or discolor from rain or sweat, and may rub off on clothing. If wet, wipe gently and dry in the shade.
• Leather is delicate; please handle carefully to enjoy it for many years.
