こちらは長崎県諫早市内で駆除され
ジビエレザーHUMMINGBIRDのアトリエで
毛皮から革になった
イノシシ本革のみを扱っています

イノシシの駆除数は
年々増加しており
そのほとんどが廃棄されているのが現状です

やむを得ず、駆除されたいのち
せめて最後まで
大切にいただきたい

その想いで
全て手作業で仕上げています

イノシシ革は20年以上使える皮革と言われ
ヨーロッパでは
牛より軽くて強いイノシシの革を
【孫の代まで継ぐ革】として
祖父のカバンを、孫のお財布に作り変えるほど強い革、オーストリッチやクロコダイルに並ぶ高級な革として扱われています
日本でも昔は、火消し（消防団）がかぶる頭巾にも使われていました

⚪︎本製品は天然皮革のため、色むらや傷、シワなどの天然皮革特有の個性や、染色時の化学反応でついた黒っぽい斑点や白化などが見られる場合があります。
⚪︎特に野生傷はイノシシが山の中で生きていた証であり、野生革のみに見られる特徴です。
⚪︎ジビエレザーHUMMINGBIRDでは、強度に影響のある箇所を除き、革それぞれの個性・イノシシが生きていたストーリーとしてあえて傷をそのまま使用しています。野生革の味わいとして楽しんでいただけたら幸いです。
⚪︎ジビエレザーHUMMINGBIRDで使用している革は、ミモザやアカシアを主な原料とする天然成分でなめし・染色をしており、時期や個体差によってカラーの違いなどがあります。ご了承ください。
⚪︎天然皮革は雨や汗などの水分で濡れた場合、色ムラやシミになる場合があります。または色落ちにより衣類等を汚す場合がありますのでご注意下さい。万一濡れた場合は水分をよく拭き取ってから陰干しして下さい。

The natural marks and wild scratches the boar gained while living in the mountains

About the Leather

This pouch is made from wild boar leather sourced from animals culled in Isahaya City, Nagasaki.
At the HUMMINGBIRD atelier, the hides are processed from raw skin to leather by hand.

The number of wild boars culled in Japan increases every year,
yet the reality is that most of them are discarded.

Because their lives were taken out of necessity,
we want to honor them—
and use what remains with gratitude, right to the very end.

That is why every step of our work is done by hand.

Why Wild Boar Leather?

Wild boar leather is said to last over 20 years.
In Europe, it is valued as a luxury leather—lighter and stronger than cowhide—
known as “leather to pass on to your grandchildren.”
It is so durable that a grandfather’s bag can be remade into a grandchild’s wallet.
It is considered as premium as ostrich or crocodile.
In Japan, it was once used for the protective hoods worn by firefighters.

Features of Wild Boar Leather
•Highly resistant to water, friction, and scratches
•Extremely lightweight (about 2/3 the weight of cowhide)
•Maintenance-free, as its structure is similar to human skin
•Tanned with natural materials such as mimosa and acacia—safe for babies and the elderly

Before Purchasing
•As this is natural leather, variations such as uneven color, wrinkles, scars, dark spots, or whitening from dye reactions may be present.
•Wild marks are proof of the boar’s life in the mountains—unique characteristics found only on wild leather.
•At HUMMINGBIRD, we intentionally keep these natural marks (except where strength would be affected) as part of the animal’s story.
•Since we use natural vegetable tanning with ingredients like mimosa and acacia, color may vary depending on the season and individual hides.
•Water (rain or sweat) may cause stains, color variation, or color transfer to clothing. If the leather becomes wet, wipe it dry and let it air-dry in the shade.
•Leather is delicate, so please handle with care and enjoy it for years to come.
