【なぜ、今がま口？】

これまで、がま口タイプのお財布は“金具の特殊さ”や“製作の難しさ”からなかなか形にできずにいました。
ですが今回、お客様からのあたたかな想いをきっかけに、大きな一歩を踏み出すことができました。

── それは、こんなお話から始まりました。
「小学生のときにお母さんにプレゼントしたがま口財布を、母（現在78歳）が今でも大切に使ってくれていて…。今度は、ジビエレザーで新しいがま口を贈りたいんです」

この想いに、どうしても応えたくて。
型紙づくりから試作を何度も重ね、ついにジビエレザーならではのしなやかさを活かした、オリジナルのがま口が完成しました◎

こちらは長崎県諫早市内で駆除され
ジビエレザーHUMMINGBIRDのアトリエで
毛皮から革になった
イノシシ本革のみを扱っています

イノシシの駆除数は
年々増加しており
そのほとんどが廃棄されているのが現状です

やむを得ず、駆除されたいのち
せめて最後まで
大切にいただきたい

その想いで
全て手作業で仕上げています

イノシシ革は20年以上使える皮革と言われ
ヨーロッパでは
牛より軽くて強いイノシシの革を
【孫の代まで継ぐ革】として
祖父のカバンを、孫のお財布に作り変えるほど強い革、オーストリッチやクロコダイルに並ぶ高級な革として扱われています
日本でも昔は、火消し（消防団）がかぶる頭巾にも使われていました

⚪︎本製品は天然皮革のため、色むらや傷、シワなどの天然皮革特有の個性や、染色時の化学反応でついた黒っぽい斑点や白化などが見られる場合があります。
⚪︎特に野生傷はイノシシが山の中で生きていた証であり、野生革のみに見られる特徴です。
⚪︎ジビエレザーHUMMINGBIRDでは、強度に影響のある箇所を除き、革それぞれの個性・イノシシが生きていたストーリーとしてあえて傷をそのまま使用しています。野生革の味わいとして楽しんでいただけたら幸いです。
⚪︎ジビエレザーHUMMINGBIRDで使用している革は、ミモザやアカシアを主な原料とする天然成分でなめし・染色をしており、時期や個体差によってカラーの違いなどがあります。ご了承ください。
⚪︎天然皮革は雨や汗などの水分で濡れた場合、色ムラやシミになる場合があります。または色落ちにより衣類等を汚す場合がありますのでご注意下さい。万一濡れた場合は水分をよく拭き取ってから陰干しして下さい。

【Why a clasp wallet—why now?】

For a long time, we were unable to produce a clasp-style wallet due to the complexity of the metal frame and the challenges involved in the crafting process.
But this time, a heartfelt message from a customer gave us the courage to take a big step forward.

── The story began like this:
“When I was in elementary school, I gave my mother a clasp wallet as a gift. She’s now 78, and she still treasures it today… This time, I want to give her a new clasp wallet made from gibier leather.”

We wanted—more than anything—to honor that feeling.
So we created patterns from scratch, made countless prototypes, and finally completed an original clasp wallet that makes the most of the natural suppleness of gibier leather ◎

With the rich expression unique to natural materials and a soft texture that fits comfortably in your hand,

This wallet is made exclusively from genuine wild boar leather sourced from boars culled in Isahaya City, Nagasaki Prefecture.
At the GIBIER LEATHER HUMMINGBIRD atelier, each hide is carefully transformed from fur to leather.

The number of culled wild boars increases every year,
and the unfortunate reality is that most of them are simply discarded.

These lives were taken out of necessity—
so at the very least,
we wish to honor them and use their materials with care and gratitude until the end.

With that belief, every piece is crafted entirely by hand.

【About Wild Boar Leather】

Wild boar leather is known to last more than 20 years.
In Europe, its strength and lightness—surpassing cowhide—have earned it the name:
“Leather to be passed down to your grandchildren.”
A grandfather’s cherished bag can be remade into a wallet for his grandchild.
It is considered a luxury leather, on par with ostrich and crocodile.

In Japan, it was once used in the protective hoods worn by traditional firefighters.
•Highly resistant to water, friction, and scratches
•Extremely lightweight (about 2/3 the weight of cowhide)
•Maintenance-free, with a composition close to human skin
•Eco-friendly leather tanned entirely with natural ingredients such as mimosa and acacia—safe for everyone from babies to the elderly

•Because this product uses natural leather, variations such as uneven color, small scars, wrinkles, dark speckles, and whitening caused by natural reactions during dyeing may be present.
•Wild scars are proof that the boar lived freely in the mountains—an authentic characteristic found only in wild leather.
•At GIBIER LEATHER HUMMINGBIRD, we intentionally keep these marks (except those affecting durability) as they represent the individuality and life story of each animal. We hope you can enjoy them as a unique feature of wild leather.
•Our leather is tanned and dyed using natural materials such as mimosa and acacia, so colors may vary depending on the season and the individual hide.
•Natural leather may stain or discolor when exposed to rain, sweat, or moisture, and may transfer color onto clothing. If it becomes wet, please wipe off the moisture and let it dry in the shade.
•Leather is delicate. Please handle it with care so you can enjoy it for many years.
