どちらも“いのちのカケラ“。

こちらは長崎県諫早市内で駆除され
ジビエレザーHUMMINGBIRDのアトリエで
毛皮から革になった
イノシシ本革のみを扱っています

イノシシの駆除数は
年々増加しており
そのほとんどが廃棄されているのが現状です

やむを得ず、駆除されたいのち
せめて最後まで
大切にいただきたい

その想いで
全て手作業で仕上げています

イノシシ革は20年以上使える皮革と言われ
ヨーロッパでは
牛より軽くて強いイノシシの革を
【孫の代まで継ぐ革】として
祖父のカバンを、孫のお財布に作り変えるほど強い革、オーストリッチやクロコダイルに並ぶ高級な革として扱われています
日本でも昔は、火消し（消防団）がかぶる頭巾にも使われていました

Strap & Details

The shoulder strap is made from firm, durable camel-colored wild boar leather.
Its adjustable length allows anyone to achieve a comfortable, personalized fit.

The flap closure is crafted from the antler of a wild deer captured in Kumamoto by a hunter from Isahaya City.
This bag is a collaboration of wild animals —
both elements are fragments of life,
and we hope you will treasure them with care and respect.

About Gibier Leather HUMMINGBIRD

We work exclusively with genuine wild boar leather.
The boars are culled in Isahaya City, Nagasaki Prefecture,
and their hides are carefully transformed from fur into leather
at the Gibier Leather HUMMINGBIRD atelier.

The number of wild boars culled each year continues to increase,
and sadly, most of their hides are still discarded.

These lives were taken out of necessity.
At the very least, we wish to honor them
by using every part with care and respect.

With this belief, each piece is finished entirely by hand.

About Wild Boar Leather

Wild boar leather is known to last over 20 years.
In Europe, it is valued as leather that can be passed down to the next generation —
so durable that a grandfather’s bag can be remade into a grandchild’s wallet.

Despite its strength, it is lighter and stronger than cowhide,
and is treated as a luxury material alongside ostrich and crocodile leather.
In Japan, it was once used for firefighters’ protective hoods.

•At Gibier Leather HUMMINGBIRD, except for areas that affect durability, we intentionally preserve these marks as part of each hide’s individuality and story.

•The leather is tanned and dyed using natural ingredients such as mimosa and acacia. Color variations may occur depending on the season and the individual hide.

•Natural leather may stain, develop uneven coloring, or transfer color if exposed to rain, sweat, or moisture. If it becomes wet, gently wipe off the moisture and allow it to dry in the shade.

•Leather is delicate. Please handle with care and enjoy it for many years.
