この財布に使われているのは、野生のイノシシの革から生まれた「ジビエレザー」
人間の暮らしを守るためにやむを得ず奪われた命を、ただ捨てるのではなく、
“最後まで大切に使いきる”という想いから、この作品は生まれました。

その選択が、未来の暮らしをつくっていくきっかけになると信じています。

今回は2種類のダブルホックウォレットが生まれました。

『夜空と月』と『昼の太陽』のようにる対象的な印象です。

手に持った時の存在感で

ジビエレザーHUMMINGBIRDのアトリエで
毛皮から革になった
イノシシ本革のみを扱っています

イノシシの駆除数は
年々増加しており
そのほとんどが廃棄されているのが現状です

やむを得ず、駆除されたいのち
せめて最後まで
大切にいただきたい

その想いで
全て手作業で仕上げています

イノシシ革は20年以上使える皮革と言われ
ヨーロッパでは
牛より軽くて強いイノシシの革を
【孫の代まで継ぐ革】として
祖父のカバンを、孫のお財布に作り変えるほど強い革、オーストリッチやクロコダイルに並ぶ高級な革として扱われています
日本でも昔は、火消し（消防団）がかぶる頭巾にも使われていました

⚪︎ジビエレザーHUMMINGBIRDでは、強度に影響のある箇所を除き、革それぞれの個性・イノシシが生きていたストーリーとしてあえて傷をそのまま使用しています。野生革の味わいとして楽しんでいただけたら幸いです。
⚪︎ジビエレザーHUMMINGBIRDで使用している革は、ミモザやアカシアを主な原料とする天然成分でなめし・染色をしており、時期や個体差によってカラーの違いなどがあります。ご了承ください。
⚪︎天然皮革は雨や汗などの水分で濡れた場合、色ムラやシミになる場合があります。または色落ちにより衣類等を汚す場合がありますのでご注意下さい。万一濡れた場合は水分をよく拭き取ってから陰干しして下さい。

This wallet is crafted from gibier leather made from the hide of wild boar.
These animals were unavoidably culled to protect human lives and livelihoods.
Rather than letting those lives go to waste, this piece was born from the belief of honoring life by using it fully, until the very end.

Because it is something you use every day,
what you choose — and what you live with — matters.
We believe that each choice can become a small step toward shaping a more thoughtful future.

This collection features two types of double-snap wallets,
with contrasting impressions, like “the moon in the night sky” and “the sun at midday.”

The solid presence in the hand allows it to be comfortably used even when carried in a pocket.

About Our Leather

All leather used is genuine wild boar leather,
culled within Isahaya City, Nagasaki Prefecture,
and carefully transformed from raw hide to leather at the Gibier Leather HUMMINGBIRD atelier.

The number of wild boar culled increases every year,
and most hides are still discarded.

These lives were taken out of necessity —
and we wish, at the very least,
to receive them with respect and gratitude,
using them fully and thoughtfully.

Each piece is finished entirely by hand, with that intention at heart.

About Wild Boar Leather

Wild boar leather is said to last over 20 years.
In Europe, it is valued as a material lighter and stronger than cowhide,
often referred to as “leather passed down to grandchildren.”
It is so durable that a grandfather’s bag can be remade into a grandchild’s wallet.

It is also regarded as a luxury leather, comparable to ostrich and crocodile.
In Japan, it was once used for the protective hoods worn by firefighters.

Characteristics:
• Highly resistant to water, friction, and scratches
• Extremely lightweight (about 2/3 the weight of cowhide)
• Maintenance-free leather with properties close to human skin
• Vegetable-tanned and dyed using only natural ingredients
• Safe and gentle for everyone, from babies to the elderly
• An eco-friendly leather made with care for people and nature

Before Purchasing
• As this is natural leather, variations such as color unevenness, scars, wrinkles, dark spots from tanning reactions, or light discoloration may occur.
• Marks from life in the wild are proof of the boar’s natural existence and are unique to wild leather.
• Except where durability is affected, we intentionally leave these marks as part of each hide’s story.
• The leather is tanned and dyed using natural ingredients such as mimosa and acacia; colors may vary depending on the season and individual hide.
• Natural leather may stain or transfer color if exposed to rain, sweat, or moisture. If it becomes wet, gently wipe off moisture and allow it to dry in the shade.
• Leather is delicate; please handle with care to enjoy it for many years.
