こちらは長崎県諫早市内で駆除され
ジビエレザーHUMMINGBIRDのアトリエで
毛皮から革になった
イノシシ本革のみを扱っています

イノシシの駆除数は
年々増加しており
そのほとんどが廃棄されているのが現状です

やむを得ず、駆除されたいのち
せめて最後まで
大切にいただきたい

その想いで
全て手作業で仕上げています

イノシシ革は20年以上使える皮革と言われ
ヨーロッパでは
牛より軽くて強いイノシシの革を
【孫の代まで継ぐ革】として
祖父のカバンを、孫のお財布に作り変えるほど強い革、オーストリッチやクロコダイルに並ぶ高級な革として扱われています
日本でも昔は、火消し（消防団）がかぶる頭巾にも使われていました

⚪︎天然皮革は雨や汗などの水分で濡れた場合、色ムラやシミになる場合があります。または色落ちにより衣類等を汚す場合がありますのでご注意下さい。万一濡れた場合は水分をよく拭き取ってから陰干しして下さい。

This wallet features a wide-opening coin compartment and is known as a “Garçon wallet.”

The term garçon refers to a restaurant waiter.
In the past, waiters used wallets with easily visible coin compartments so they could quickly provide change at customers’ tables without making them wait.

From this practice, wallets with large, easy-to-open coin pockets came to be called Garçon wallets.

This product is made exclusively from genuine wild boar leather sourced from animals culled within Isahaya City, Nagasaki, and processed into leather at the HUMMINGBIRD atelier.

The number of wild boars being culled increases each year, yet most of them are still discarded.

These lives are taken out of necessity.
Our wish is to honor them by using them carefully and respectfully to the very end.

Each item is therefore finished entirely by hand.

Wild boar leather is said to last over 20 years.
In Europe, it is valued as leather strong and light enough to be passed down through generations. Grandfathers’ bags are even remade into wallets for their grandchildren. It is treated as a luxury leather comparable to ostrich and crocodile.

In Japan, it was historically used for firefighters’ protective hoods due to its durability.

Characteristics of wild boar leather:
•Resistant to water, friction, and scratches
•Extremely lightweight (about two-thirds the weight of cowhide)
•Maintenance-free leather with properties close to human skin
•Eco-friendly leather tanned entirely with natural ingredients, safe for everyone from babies to the elderly

Notes Before Purchase

• As this product uses natural leather, variations such as color unevenness, scratches, wrinkles, dark spots, or whitening caused by dye reactions may appear.
• Scars from the animal’s life in the wild are proof of its natural history and are unique to wild leather.
• Except where strength is compromised, HUMMINGBIRD intentionally retains these marks as part of each leather’s individuality and story. We hope you enjoy these characteristics as part of the charm of wild leather.
• The leather is tanned and dyed using natural ingredients such as mimosa and acacia, so color variations may occur depending on season and individual hides.
• Natural leather may develop stains or discoloration when exposed to rain or sweat, and color transfer to clothing may occur. If wet, gently wipe off moisture and dry in the shade.
• Leather is delicate. Please handle with care so you can enjoy it for many years.
