【ギャルソン】というのは
＝レストランなどの
【ウエイター・ボーイさん】のこと

昔ボーイさんが、お席で会計する際
お客さまを待たせることなく
すぐにお釣りが出せるように
コインが見やすい専用のお財布を使っており

その時の名残で
このようにコイン入れが大きなお財布を
【ギャルソン財布】と呼ぶようになったそうです

ジビエレザーHUMMINGBIRDのアトリエで
毛皮から革になった
イノシシ本革のみを扱っています

イノシシの駆除数は
年々増加しており
そのほとんどが廃棄されているのが現状です

やむを得ず、駆除されたいのち
せめて最後まで
大切にいただきたい

その想いで
全て手作業で仕上げています

イノシシ革は20年以上使える皮革と言われ
ヨーロッパでは
牛より軽くて強いイノシシの革を
【孫の代まで継ぐ革】として
祖父のカバンを、孫のお財布に作り変えるほど強い革、オーストリッチやクロコダイルに並ぶ高級な革として扱われています
日本でも昔は、火消し（消防団）がかぶる頭巾にも使われていました

A new Garçon wallet has been brought to life from the precious fragments of wild boar lives.

This collection features three new earthy colors:
Green, Camel, and Brick.

Inspired by soil, trees, and nature’s greenery,
each piece was created with the hope of continuing to cherish and protect the natural world around us.

As the leather ages, it gradually develops a richer depth of color and a beautiful natural shine over time.

In Feng Shui, green wallets are said to symbolize:
• Growth and prosperity
• Harmony with health and wellbeing
• Steady and grounded financial fortune

This style of wallet, with its wide-opening coin compartment, is known as a “Garçon Wallet.”

The word “garçon” originally referred to waiters in restaurants.
Long ago, waiters used these wallets so they could quickly access coins and give change smoothly without making customers wait.

That history remains today in this practical and beloved wallet design.

The wallet includes:

All leather used in this piece comes from wild boars culled in Isahaya, Nagasaki, Japan, and transformed from fur into leather in the atelier of Gibier Boar Leather HUMMINGBIRD.

The number of wild boars being culled in Japan continues to increase every year, and sadly, most of them are simply discarded.

We believe that if these lives must be taken, they deserve to be treated with care and dignity until the very end.

That is why every piece is entirely handcrafted.

Wild boar leather is known as a leather that can last for over 20 years.

In Europe, lightweight yet extremely durable wild boar leather has long been valued as “leather that can be passed down through generations.”
It is said to be strong enough that a grandfather’s bag could be remade into a grandchild’s wallet.

It is also regarded as a luxury leather alongside ostrich and crocodile leather.
Historically in Japan, it was even used for protective firefighter hoods.

Features of Wild Boar Leather:
◎ Strong against water, friction, and scratches
◎ Extremely lightweight (about two-thirds the weight of cow leather)
◎ A low-maintenance leather with properties close to human skin
◎ Vegetable-tanned and dyed using natural ingredients, making it gentle for all ages

• Because this product is made from genuine natural leather, variations such as uneven coloring, wrinkles, scratches, natural markings, dark spots, or whitening caused by the dyeing process may occur. These are unique characteristics of natural leather.

• Scratches found on wild boar leather are proof of the animal’s life in the mountains and are unique features only found in wild leather.

• At Gibier Boar Leather HUMMINGBIRD, we intentionally preserve these natural marks whenever they do not affect durability, honoring each leather’s individuality and the story of the life it once lived.

• The leather is tanned and dyed using natural ingredients such as mimosa and acacia, so colors may vary depending on season and individual hide.

• Natural leather may develop stains or uneven coloring if exposed to rain, sweat, or moisture. Color transfer to clothing may also occur. If the leather becomes wet, gently wipe off moisture and dry it in the shade.

• Leather is a delicate natural material. Please handle it with care and enjoy it for many years to come.
