【いのちのバトンを大切に繋ぎたい】
そんな思いで
長崎県諫早市で駆除された
野生のイノシシの毛皮から
ジビエレザー作品を作っています。

今回の作品ではジビエレザーを
存分に味わっていただきたい！
という思いで、生前の大きな野生傷を
全面に活かしたデザインにしています。

大きなお母さんイノシシの皮なのですが
20cmほどの大きな傷跡を見ると
大きな雄イノシシに負けない
ワイルドな生き方だったのかな？
なんて想像しました。

また、フラップの部分には
猟師さんが毛皮を剥ぐときにできる
曲線【ヘリ】をそのまま使い
革鞣し業者（タンナー）さんが
鞣しの工程で、革を張る時に出る
クリップ跡も取り入れてます

いのちの大切さを思うからこそ
これまで捨てられてきたイノシシで
ジビエレザー作品を作っていて
野山を走り回っていたイノシシが
革となってアトリエに来るまでの
様々なストーリーを全面に打ち出した
一点もののお財布ポーチです。

【仕様】
ショルダーストラップで肩掛けできるお財布兼ポーチ。内ポケットはお札入れになり、スマホやその他の荷物とお札を分けられます。
前面のファスナーポケットは
コインケースにも使えるため小銭が漏れずに安心して収納できます。
とにかく手ぶらでこれ一つ！が叶うように
制作してみました

こちらは長崎県諫早市内で駆除され
ジビエレザーHUMMINGBIRDのアトリエで
毛皮から革になった
イノシシ本革のみを扱っています

イノシシの駆除数は
年々増加しており
そのほとんどが廃棄されているのが現状です

やむを得ず、駆除されたいのち
せめて最後まで
大切にいただきたい

その想いで
全て手作業で仕上げています

イノシシ革は20年以上使える皮革と言われ
ヨーロッパでは
牛より軽くて強いイノシシの革を
【孫の代まで継ぐ革】として
祖父のカバンを、孫のお財布に作り変えるほど強い革、オーストリッチやクロコダイルに並ぶ高級な革として扱われています
日本でも昔は、火消し（消防団）がかぶる頭巾にも使われていました

⚪︎本製品は天然皮革のため、色むらや傷、シワなどの天然皮革特有の個性や、染色時の化学反応でついた黒っぽい斑点や白化などが見られる場合があります。
⚪︎特に野生傷はイノシシが山の中で生きていた証であり、野生革のみに見られる特徴です。
⚪︎ジビエレザーHUMMINGBIRDでは、強度に影響のある箇所を除き、革それぞれの個性・イノシシが生きていたストーリーとしてあえて傷をそのまま使用しています。野生革の味わいとして楽しんでいただけたら幸いです。
⚪︎ジビエレザーHUMMINGBIRDで使用している革は、ミモザやアカシアを主な原料とする天然成分でなめし・染色をしており、時期や個体差によってカラーの違いなどがあります。ご了承ください。
⚪︎天然皮革は雨や汗などの水分で濡れた場合、色ムラやシミになる場合があります。または色落ちにより衣類等を汚す場合がありますのでご注意下さい。万一濡れた場合は水分をよく拭き取ってから陰干しして下さい。

Wild Boar Leather ✴︎ Gibier Leather

Passing on the Baton of Life

With the wish to honor and pass on the baton of life, we create gibier leather works from the hides of wild boars culled in Isahaya City, Nagasaki, Japan.

For this piece, we wanted you to fully experience the true character of gibier leather.
The design boldly showcases a large natural scar from the boar’s life in the wild, left untouched and displayed across the entire surface.

This hide came from a large female wild boar.
Seeing a scar nearly 20 cm long, we couldn’t help but imagine a life lived just as fiercely and wildly as any great male boar.

The flap features the original natural curved edge created when hunters carefully skin the animal.
You will also find clip marks left during the tanning process—traces created when the leather was stretched and fixed by professional tanners.
These marks are intentionally preserved as part of the story of the leather.

Because we deeply respect the value of life, we create gibier leather pieces from wild boars that would otherwise be discarded.
This one-of-a-kind wallet pouch tells the full story—from a boar running freely through the mountains, to leather arriving at our atelier.

About HUMMINGBIRD Gibier Leather

We use only genuine wild boar leather that has been culled within Isahaya City, Nagasaki, and transformed from raw hide to leather in the Gibier Leather HUMMINGBIRD atelier.

Each year, the number of culled wild boars continues to increase, and sadly, most are discarded.
These lives were taken out of necessity—
we believe the least we can do is honor them to the very end.

That belief is why every piece is finished entirely by hand.

Wild boar leather is said to last over 20 years.
In Europe, it is valued as leather “passed down to the next generation,” sometimes remade from a grandfather’s bag into a grandchild’s wallet.
It is lighter and stronger than cowhide, and is regarded as a luxury leather alongside ostrich and crocodile.
In Japan, it was historically used for firefighters’ hoods due to its exceptional durability.

Characteristics of Wild Boar Leather
• Highly resistant to water, friction, and scratches
• Extremely lightweight (approximately 2/3 the weight of cowhide)
• Low-maintenance leather with a composition similar to human skin
• Tanned and dyed using only natural ingredients, making it safe and eco-friendly for all ages

Important Notes Before Purchase
• As this is natural leather, variations in color, scars, wrinkles, dark spots, or whitening caused by natural dye reactions may occur
• Wild scars are proof of life in nature and are unique characteristics of wild leather
• Except where strength is compromised, HUMMINGBIRD intentionally preserves these marks as part of the boar’s story
• Our leather is tanned and dyed using natural ingredients such as mimosa and acacia; colors may vary depending on the season and individual hide
• Natural leather may stain or discolor when exposed to water or sweat, and color transfer to clothing may occur
If wet, gently wipe off moisture and dry in the shade
• Leather is delicate—please handle with care and enjoy it for many years
